You can now promote a node to a project via the node options or context menu

Sometimes when you work on a big project, you can split it up to smaller projects. It could be handy if we could add a node that links to another project.
Edit : I think "Display sub tree as project" is actually the same idea, but explained in other words..

Agree hoping to tackle this issue with the "display sub tree as project" task, Also as part of the current WIP to support folders I'm doing the ground work to make this much easier :D so hopefully this shouldn't be too far off

This would be incredibly helpeful, the trees I've made have many levels (5+) and it would be such a win if I could just look at the tree for a single node (not the entire tree) & be able to switch-back and forth or have the option to have these views accessible.

No I haven't looked at it in detail although will go a bit deeper into it.
Yeah this is exactly what I have been thinking about the past couple of days trying to explore what what the UX looks like.
I think I still need to keep projects so people can group and isolate different sets of data.
But I'm thinking that maybe the projects could just be listed on the dashboard page and as you said the side bar could be used for booked marked views

Nick Glavin: Good idea
maybe project could instantly be given a certain numbers of filters tags that would exclude anything not related to them ? Or in filter we can have a checkbox [] exclude parent nodes so the data set stays within the project
